LOS ANGELES (AP) — Bad Bunny won album of the year and Kendrick Lamar and SZA took home record of the year for “luther” at the Grammy Awards on Feb. 1, which was hosted by Trevor Noah.

Bad Bunny’s “Debí Tirar Más Fotos” is the first all-Spanish-language album to win album of the year. Bad Bunny also accepted the best música urbana album award for ‘Debí Tirar Más Fotos,’ to a thunderous standing ovation. Like several others, he used the platform to speak out against the current sociopolitical climate in the U.S.

“Before I say thanks to God, I’m going to say ICE out,” he said, starting out his speech in English to huge applause. “We’re not savage, we’re not animals, we’re not aliens. We are humans and we are Americans.”

In addition to winning record of the year, Lamar also won best rap album of the year, edging out Jay-Z to become the most-awarded rapper in the ceremony’s history with 25.

“It’s an honor to be here,” he said in his acceptance speech. He was presented the award by Queen Latifah and Doechii. “Hip-hop is always going to be right here. … We’re gonna be having the culture with us.”

Also joining the winners’ circle was Olivia Dean, the best new artist awardee; the “Wicked” duo of Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande and the Dalai Lama.

While the Grammys saves the biggest categories for its telecast, 86 awards were handed out during the Premiere Ceremony earlier on Feb. 1. Additionally, Chaka Khan, Cher, Carlos Santana, Paul Simon, Fela Kuti and Whitney Houston received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Recording Academy at the Grammys Special Merit Awards the previous night.

“Music has been my prayer, my healing, my joy, my truth,” Khan said as she accepted the award. “Through it, I saved my life.”
