Washington, D.C. – February marks the one-year anniversary of cannabis legalization in D.C. and on February 20th the Capitol CannaShow is bringing together the movement’s key advocates, growers, and cannabusinesses at the renowned Mayflower Hotel in the first locally sourced cannabis summit.

The District‘s cannabis scene is surging with entrepreneurial businesses like Capitol Hemp, Wash Hydro, and King Weedy. Also popping up are locally sponsored plant shares and free marijuana parties. The interest in cannabis is growing too – just take a look at the ever-increasing number of attendees at activist meetings like DC NORML which is consistently hitting the one-hundred mark.

The city is also attracting big players such as High Times and Oaksterdam, they have begun hosting their own events in D.C. with tickets in the pricey $400-$1000+ range.

The Capitol CannaShow is the first locally sourced business summit promising local networking at affordable $31.73 price tag.

Adam Eidinger, known for his role in spearheading Initiative 71, is the keynote speaker. Eidinger recently spoke out against B21-0107, D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser’s administration’s only amendment to current cannabis consumption laws. The infamous convicted drug dealer-turned-rehab leader and author of 37 Tons, David Victorson, will also be speaking and exhibiting his CBD products. Victorson currently lives in the District.

A powerful female force in the cannabis industry, CEO of Get Hemp Butter, Kyla Hill, will be there with her highly acclaimed CBD infused beauty products. NYTlive identified Hill as one of the female entrepreneurs to look out for in the cannabis industry.

According to the Capitol CannaShow’s website, “this is an upscale conference that’s affordable and communal, highlighting local businesses and giving everyone the opportunity to network with the most influential players in the industry right now.”

Partial proceeds from The Capitol CannaShow goes to the Students for Sensible Drug Policy, the National Organization for Reform of Marijuana Laws (NORML), and the National Association of Concerned Veterans (NACV).
