Omara Parker scored a game-high 23 of Morgan State’s season-low 48 points, as the Lady Bears dropped their fifth straight, following a 65-48 non-conference loss at Stony Brook on Dec. 22 at Pritchard Gymnasium in Stony Brook, N.Y.

Morgan State (2-7 overall record) which went winless to conclude its nine-day four-game road trip, was limited to just four free throw attempts – connecting on two, while the host Seawolves went to the line 24 times and knocked down 18 for 75 percent.

Morgan State seemed poised to take out its frustrations of the long road trip on Stony Brook, when the Lady Bears jumped out to a quick 6-0 lead on back-to-back three-pointers by Moneshia Davis and Parker. Suddenly the Lady Bears found themselves trailing by six (19-13) after two free throws by Kellie Krueger with 7:29 to play in the opening half.

The Lady Bears later used a mini 6-0 run, capped off by another Parker three-pointer to even up the game at 25 all at the 2:43 mark. But that would be the last points of the half for Morgan State, as the Seawolves would score the next seven points and take a 32-25 lead at the intermission. The Seawolves never looked back from there.

Stony Brook (2-10 overall record) was led by Kellie Krueger, who finished with 14 points and pulled down six rebounds. Sam Lander and Dani Klupenger both came off the bench and added 13 and 10 points, respectively. Destiny Jacobs hauled in a game-high nine rebounds for the Seawolves, who improved to 3-0 against Morgan State.

Morgan State will be off for the Christmas Holiday until Dec. 28, when they take on Virginia Commonwealth in the opener of the Miami Holiday Classic (Dec. 28-29) hosted by the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Fla.
