The Bowie State Lady Bulldogs basketball team’s current losing skid slipped to four straight games after a 75-67 loss to Central Interscholastic Athletic Association (CIAA) foe, the Lincoln Lions on Jan. 16 in Lincoln, Pa. The loss dropped Bowie State’s overall record to 9-8 and 2-5 against the CIAA.

The Lady Bulldogs were one of the hottest teams in the CIAA just a month ago – they put together a six-game win streak in December and held an 8-3 overall record heading into the New Year. But since January, Bowie State has had difficulties with its CIAA schedule, losing five of seven conference games.

Difficulties continued in Lincoln as the Bulldogs simply couldn’t stop the Lions from scoring Saturday. Four different players for Lincoln scored double digits in points, led by LenNee Kimbell with 16.

After trailing in the entire first half, Bowie State battled back to take the lead a few times in the second half. But their lack of defense hurt them in the end as Lincoln was able to pull away for the win.

Bowie State sophomore guard Kiara Colston led all scorers with 17 points, and fellow sophomore guard Kyah Proctor added 16.
