The Eta Pi Zeta Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated is announcing its 17th Debutante Cotillion to be held at the Gaithersburg Hilton Hotel on April 2, beginning at 5 p.m.

Stephanie Stewart, the cotillion co-chairwoman, said members of the chapter and the debutants are eager to participate in the program.

“The excitement is building. We are so very proud of the work and dedication that our debutantes have put in; they will be so proud of themselves when they have their moment at the cotillion,” said Stewart in a prepared statement. “Eta Pi Zeta is demonstrating its principles and dedication to the community by hosting a cotillion for several young ladies, formally called debutantes. The debutantes have gone through a season of social and community service activities which emphasize community involvement and self-worth.”

In the months leading up to the April 2 cotillion, the debutantes participated in community service activities at Sophia’s House, Montgomery County Service Day, and Manna Foods; an image workshop, makeup workshop, mystery dinner theater, yoga and sex education class, a weekend of camping, an etiquette workshop, a father daughter dinner, a mother daughter tea, a talent show and dance lessons.

The cotillion activities culminate in a scholarship and presentation ball where the debutantes showcase some of what they have learned including a formal dance.

The cotillion takes place at the Gaithersburg Hilton, 620 Perry Parkway, Gaithersburg, Md. Tickets are $50. For additional information and to purchase tickets, e-mail info@etapizeta.org or visit the Eta Pi Zeta Chapter at www.etapizeta.org.
