MOUNT RAINIER, Md. (AP) — A District of Columbia man has been arrested in the killing of a Howard University freshman.

Prince George’s County police say they’ve arrested 20-year-old William Knight and charged him with first-degree murder in the death of Alonzo James Guyton.

Guyton was found shot just after midnight Tuesday in front of a Mount Rainier apartment building. He died at a hospital.
Detectives on Friday served an arrest warrant on Knight at the D.C. jail, where police say he was being held on an unrelated charge.

He’ll be extradited to Prince George’s County.
