The Dallas Mavericks even the series, 2-2, and forced a Game six to be played after edging the Miami Heat, 86-83, in Game four on June 7 at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas.

Mavericks‚ primary scorer Dirk Nowitzki didn’t have his game shooting, only making 6-of-19 shots for 21 points. But the rest of the Dallas cast helped out with four of Nowitzki’s teammates contributing double-digit points, including center Tyson Chandler with a double-double of 13 points and 16 rebounds.

Veteran guard Jason Terry added 17 key points off the bench for Dallas; forward Shawn Marion followed with 16 points. Nowitzki, who still scored the game-deciding layup in the Mavericks victory Wednesday night despite his struggles, told reporters the key to winning was “staying at it.”

“We just battle it out,” Nowitzki said after the game. “This is the finals. You have to go out there and compete and try your best for your team. So that’s what I did.”

Heat guard Dwyane Wade led the game with 32 points, while forward Chris Bosh added 24 points. But forward LeBron James struggled to find a scoring rhythm, finishing the game with only eight points. “I’ve got to do a better job of being more assertive offensively,” said James, who still finished with nine rebounds and seven assists. “I’m confident in my ability. It’s just about going out there and knocking them down.”

Game 5 will be played in Dallas on Thursday, June 9 at 9 p.m.
