The MECU Neighborhood Event Grants program awards cash grants to Baltimore neighborhood associations and community-based nonprofit organizations for the purpose of producing special events.

New for 2014, MECU has increased their support to provide opportunities for more organizations. Eligible groups can receive up to $1,000 to produce an event for the community and residents they serve, such as art workshops, back-to-school rallies, block parties, book drives, food drives, health fairs and neighborhood clean-ups. The deadline for applications is 5 p.m., March 21. An application can be found at www.promotionandarts.org; click on the “Grants” tab. The MECU Neighborhood Event Grants program is supported by MECU,
