Comptroller Franchot to Give Keynote Address at Rural Maryland Council Meeting in Annapolis

WHAT:           Comptroller Peter Franchot will be the keynote speaker at the Rural Maryland Council’s Executive Board meeting Wednesday at the Treasury Building. The Comptroller will talk about his “Let Summer Be Summer” campaign and petition drive to start school after Labor Day, his support for the coal and poultry industries, the role of government in the liquor business, and his support for Maryland Broadband.

The Rural Maryland Council (RMC) is a state rural development council that brings together rural leaders, government officials and representatives of the non-profit and for-profit sectors to develop public policy solutions to collectively address the needs of rural Maryland communities.  Scott Warner is chairman of the RMC and executive director of the Mid-Shore Regional Council.
