Comptroller Franchot to Participate in Student Discussion and Tour of Towson University

WHAT: Comptroller Franchot will visit Towson University Tuesday afternoon to participate in an informal roundtable discussion with students and to tour the campus. The Comptroller will see a new science building and College of Health Professions projects.
The fiscal 2017 capital budget, which pays for nearly $1 billion in construction projects, includes $6.15 million for design of the new science building, which is slated to receive $180 million through fiscal year 2020 for construction. The new 316,000-square-foot building will replace Smith Hall, which opened in the mid-1960s.
Towson University is the largest university in the Baltimore area and the second-largest university in the University System of Maryland.
