Comptroller Franchot to Present Schaefer Award in Howard County; Recognize Columbia Business
-Comptroller to Honor The Little Things for Cancer for Its Work with Cancer Patients-
WHO: Comptroller Peter Franchot
WHAT: Comptroller Peter Franchot will present the 2015 William Donald Schaefer Helping People Award in Howard County to The Little Things for Cancer. Created in memory of Jennifer Hartley and inspired by her devoted husband Bill Hartley, Wendy Letow serves as the group’s executive director. The Little Things for Cancer is dedicated to improving the quality of life for cancer patients and their caregivers with funds to help with child care, meals, transportation, co-payments for prescriptions and utility assistance, house cleaning, complementary therapies, entertainment and many more things to ease the daily burdens.
The Comptroller then will head to Nightmare Graphics Screen Printing & Embroidery Company where he will present a proclamation to President Robert Andelman, a son of the company’s founder Samuel Andelman. The company has been a national leader in producing custom, personalized apparel and merchandise since the senior Andleman opened for business in 1982. Thousands of organizations, companies, leagues and schools have been served by an in-house creative design team with on-site services and eco-friendly production.
