Comptroller Franchot to Speak at Village of Friendship Heights Town Hall Program

WHAT:           Comptroller Franchot will be the guest speaker at the Village of Friendship Heights Town Hall program Monday evening. The Comptroller will provide a general overview of the Office of the Comptroller and an update on Maryland’s economic climate and initiatives, including the effects Montgomery County Liquor Board control has on local businesses. Friendship Heights is a key town in the battle for Montgomery consumers in the liquor market, as scores of residents leave Montgomery County to buy their alcohol in the nearby District of Columbia, Northern Virginia and Prince George’s County.
