Comptroller Franchot to Visit Cockeysville

WHAT: Comptroller Franchot will tour Cockeysville Middle School Monday morning as part of his role as a member of the Board of Public Works, which approves public school construction funding. The Comptroller will see $6.8 million in renovations done at the school from FY 2009 State construction funding. Improvements include the renovation of seven science classrooms and laboratories, upgrades to the HVAC, plumbing, lighting and electrical systems, updated sprinkler and fire systems and the addition of handicapped-accessible features.
In the afternoon, the Comptroller will stop at Michael’s Café in Timonium to honor owner Michael Dellis for more than 30 years of business success. The Dellis family opened the award-winning restaurant in 1984; it is known for its famous homemade crab cakes.
