WHAT: Comptroller Franchot will tour Zentech Manufacturing Inc. Thursday morning and present a proclamation recognizing the business’contributions to the community to company President Matt Turpin. Zentech provides comprehensive supply chain services to markets with high complexity or reliability manufacturing requirements and a full range of hardware and embedded software services. It employs more than 140 people, from highly skilled engineers to electronics technicians. Zentech’s 42,000-square-foot facility is ISO 9000 certified.
After lunch, the Comptroller will stop by Goldberg’s New York Bagels on Reistertown Road to present a proclamation recognizing the success of owner Stanley Drebin, a certified public accountant, who gave up his career to commit to making bagels the way a young Polish immigrant named Isador Goldberg did when he arrived in New York in the early 1900s. In 1998, Drebin opened a bagel shop employing eight people. Today, the business employs 30 people at its two locations in Pikesville and Timonium.
