Comptroller to Present Proclamations to Senior Center, Fire Dept. and Brewing Co.

WHO: Comptroller Peter Franchot
WHAT: Comptroller Franchot will present three proclamations Friday, starting with Vantage House Senior Living in Columbia where he will make a presentation to President Virginia Thomas and Executive Director Meriann Ritacco. The senior living center has been recognized by Healthy Howard for its food and its pleasant environment.
The Comptroller then will travel to Clarksville to meet Fire Chief Pat Marlatt of the Fifth District Volunteer Fire Department. While there, he will present a proclamation recognizing the 67-year-old fire department and the services it has provide to the community.
Finishing up the day, Comptroller Franchot will present a proclamation to Rick Winter and Tim Kendzierski, owners of Ellicott Mills Brewing Co., which opened in 1997. The brewery produces more than 2,000 barrels of beer a year. In 2011 and 2012, Ellicott Mills was voted best locally made beer by Howard Magazine.
