Comptroller to Receive Business Award; Address WMDA and Petroleum Dealers in OC

WHAT: Comptroller Franchot will be presented Saturday morning with the Small Business Advocate Award given jointly by the Washington D.C., Maryland and Delaware Service Station and Automotive Repair Association (WMDA) and the Mid-Atlantic Petroleum Dealers Association. The presentation will be held at the WMDA Convention and Mega Trade Show in Ocean City. The Comptroller is receiving the award for his ongoing support of small businesses throughout the state.
Afterward, the Comptroller will give the kick-off speech at Murf’s Turf Town Hall Meeting which will focus on the role small businesses play in making towns and cities throughout the state vibrant communities of commerce and creating jobs for local people. He also will address Maryland’s fiscal health and discuss the regulatory environment to help create a level playing field to ensure opportunities for all as well as being fair, consistent and predictable.
