Comptroller to Speak at MATHS Class: Present Proclamation to Baltimore Restaurant

WHAT:           Comptroller Franchot will be the guest speaker this morning for a government and policy class at the Maryland Academy of Technology and Health Sciences (MATHS). TheComptroller will talk with students about what the Comptrollerโ€™s Office does, opportunities to shape government policy in the future and the importance of being involved in the legislative process. He also will talk about the importance of being financially literate as a life-long goal.

Afterward, the Comptroller will stop by Chiapparelliโ€™s Italian Restaurant, where he will present a proclamation to Kit Chiapparelli and her son, Brian Chiapparelli, recognizing the restaurant for its 72 years of success. It was founded in 1942 by Pasquale Chiapparelli. Voted Restaurateur of the Year by the Restaurant Association of Maryland, Chiapparelliโ€™s is one of Little Italyโ€™s best-known and loved dining establishments. The menu includes local seafood specials, delicious veal and homemade specialties and  one of the cityโ€™s best known salads.
