Comptroller to Visit Hagerstown Store to Promote Shop Maryland Energy Feb. 14-16

WHAT: As part of his week-long tour, Comptroller Franchot will visit Spichers Appliances, Electronics and Security in Hagerstown Wednesday to promote the annual Shop Maryland Energy program, which runs from Feb. 14 to 16. During the event, air conditioners, washers and dryers, furnaces, heat pumps, standard-size refrigerators, compact fluorescent light bulbs (CFL), light-emitting diode LED light bulbs, dehumidifiers and programmable thermostats meeting or exceeding the applicable ENERGY STAR efficiency requirements will be tax-free.
At the store, Comptroller Franchot will be joined by owner Curt Spicher and his wife, Sabina, and other family members, as well as Patrick Donoho, president of the Maryland Retailers Association, and Todd Meyers of Potomac Edison.
