Comptroller to Visit Havre de Grace High; Present Proclamations to Fire Co. and Businesses

WHO: Comptroller Peter Franchot
WHAT: Comptroller Franchot will visit Havre de Grace High School this morning to see its existing conditions as plans are under way to replace the facility. Planning approval for a new combined middle and high school was granted by the Board of Public Works during the most recent public school construction program funding cycle.
The Comptroller then will stop by the Susquehanna Hose Company, where he will present a proclamation to President Charles Packard and members of Station 4. The company, which includes five firehouses, is known as having the “Fastest Volunteers in the Nation” because of extremely fast response times.
In the afternoon, Mr.Franchot will visit Boyle Buick GMC and present a proclamation to the Boyle family, recognizing the 46 years the dealership has been in business. Founded by the late Clarence Boyle, in 1968, the dealership supports many local charities. Heading down the street to Box Hill Pizzeria/Crab Cakes, the Comptroller will present a proclamation to the owners and their staff for their 30 years of success. The pizzeria opened in 1984 by brothers Tom and Chris Kanaras and their parents, George and Demetra.
