WHAT:          Comptroller Franchot will present the first 2016 William Donald Schaefer Helping People Award to Maryland New Directions (MND), which trains and coaches people facing career and life transitions to overcome barriers, to restore self-belief and to acquire skills and tools needed to find employment. Executive Director Grace Lee will accept the award.

Since 1973, MND has been recognized as one of the most successful workforce development organizations in the Baltimore area emphasizing the values of integrity, collaboration, understanding, resourcefulness and excellence.  It serves nearly 300 city residents each year for free or sliding scale based on income.
