Franchot to Speak at Auto Repair Summit in Laurel
Comptroller to Emphasize Importance of Body Shops to Maryland’s Economy

WHAT: Comptroller Franchot will speak at the inaugural Auto Repair Summit at the new 100,000-square-foot Parts Authority warehouse in Laurel on Wednesday afternoon. The summit is sponsored by the Washington, Maryland, Delaware Service Station and Automotive Repair Association (WMDA) and the Council of Automotive Repair (CAR).
The WMDA was established in 1937 as a trade association serving independent business men and woman of service stations, repair facilities, convenience stores and other related businesses.
CAR was established in 2008 to provide training, services and a legislative voice for independent auto repair shop professionals in Maryland, Delaware and Washington, D.C.
