Franchot to Speak at RSVP Lunch in Baltimore; Honor Educators at 25th Md. Teachers Gala

WHAT:          Comptroller Franchot will speak Friday morning at the Baltimore City Health Department’s Adult and Geriatric Health Services’ Retired and Senior Volunteer Programs (RSVP) 40th Annual Volunteer Recognition Celebration. Baltimore City Health Commissioner Dr. Leana Wen and Crystal Biles of the Corporation for National and Community Service also will speak. RSVP provides opportunities for people 55 and over to make a difference in their community through volunteer service. 

Friday evening, the Comptroller will present Comptroller Medallions to each finalist at the 25th Maryland Teacher of the Year Gala in Baltimore. The annual awards ceremony is hosted by the Maryland State Department of Education. The Maryland Teacher of the Year Program, an affiliate of the National Teacher of the Year Program, puts the spotlight on outstanding teachers and the importance of the teaching profession.
