Franchot to Spend Thursday in Harford County
Comptroller to Present Proclamations to Local Business Owners
WHO: Comptroller Peter Franchot
WHAT: Comptroller Franchot will visit Harford County on Thursday, beginning with a visit to Jones Junction, where he will present a proclamation to owner Bryan Kilby. The car dealership opened in 1917 when Vernon Jones began selling Studebakers in Conowingo with his father, C.M. Jones. The automotive group now sells Dodge, Jeep, Nissan, Subaru, Kia and Hyundai vehicles and has more than 400 employees. Jones’ children, Larry, Danny and Beverly, are active with the dealership and have partnered with Kilby to carry on their father’s business philosophies and success.
At his next stop, the Comptroller will present a proclamation to Maria Boeri, owner of Savona Fine Italian Food and Wine. Celebrating its 11th anniversary this past June, the deli offers a variety of freshly made sandwiches, meats, cheeses and salads, as well as an assortment of Italian and American wines. Additionally, the store sells an assortment of imported Italian specialty food.
Mr. Franchot will then visit the Mill of Bel Air, where he will present a proclamation to owner Henry Holloway. The Mill is a feed and farm supply store that provides farmers and agricultural entities in the Mid-Atlantic region with feed, seed and fertilizer.
The Comptroller’s final stop will be a tour of Amrein Foods, where he will present a proclamation to owner Tom Amrein in recognition of the company’s success and contributions to the local economy and workforce. Amrein Foods is a family-owned, full-line wholesale food distributor. The company warehouses a full product line and distributes its products with a full fleet of refrigerated trucks.
