Franchot to Tour North Dorchester High School; Attend Hurlock Roundtable and Take Tour

WHAT: Comptroller Peter Franchot will take a tour Friday morning of North Dorchester High School with Dorchester County Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Henry Wagner, school board and staff members, the Dorchester County Council and Hurlock officials. A new $42 million school is being planned for the site. In April 2014, the Board of Public Works approved nearly $18 million for planning purposes for a new school. The Comptroller will see some of the high school’s problem maintenance areas, its current design challenges and talk with school and elected leaders as well as students.
The Comptroller then will head to Hurlock for a roundtable luncheon hosted by the town, followed by an afternoon tour of three projects: a new solar wastewater treatment plant, the site of a new police station and a new addition to Amick Farms. Hurlock Mayor Joyce Spratt will lead the tour.
