Franchot to Visit Internet Service Provider and Restaurant in Downtown Westminster
Comptroller to Honor Successful Business Owners
WHO: Comptroller Peter Franchot
WHAT: Comptroller Franchot is visiting the headquarters for the joint Ting/Westminster Gigabit Internet project in Westminster on Monday morning. The Ting office also serves as the City of Westminster’s fiber network, providing local Internet users with gigabit-speed access, the fastest in the Mid-Atlantic region and the area’s first community-wide fiber gigabit network. Franchot will present a proclamation to commend Ting for its partnership with the community.
Franchot then will stop by Johansson’s Dining House to present a proclamation to owner David Johansson. Located in a century-old building in downtown Westminster, Johansson’s Dining House opened in the mid-1990s to fulfill Mr. Johansson’s dream to expand the existing tavern that he owned in the building’s basement. The building also currently houses a microbrewery.
