Cardin in Landover to Discuss Racial Profiling, Voting Rights, International Affairs with Collective Empowerment Group

Senator to provide broad legislative update to interfaith partnership that stimulates economic empowerment in underserved communities

Friday, November 6 at 8:45 AM, U.S. Senator Ben Cardin (D-Md.) will speak in Landover, Md., at the monthly breakfast meeting of the Collective Empowerment Group, Inc., a Christian ministry that establishes covenant relationships with member churches and partnerships with financial institutions and other organizations for economic empowerment. Its vision is to stimulate and actualize economic empowerment in the African-American and other underserved communities, while leaving a legacy for future generations.

โ€œFor two decades, the Collective Empowerment Group has helped build stronger communities in Prince Georgeโ€™s County and throughout Maryland. Its members are thoughtful and engaged, and I look forward to the opportunity to provide updates on pressing issues like my ongoing efforts to end racial profiling and to preserve and expand the Voting Rights Act,โ€ said Senator Cardin.
