Cardin to Discuss Environmental Issues with Maryland Faith Community
Monday, July 20 at 1:00 PM, U.S. Senator Ben Cardin (D-Md.) will participate in a roundtable discussion on environmental issues with a diverse array of Maryland faith leaders at the Cathedral of the Incarnation in Baltimore. Cardin, a senior member of the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works, long has welcomed and valued the contributions of the faith community to the stewardship of the Chesapeake Bay. At Monday’s roundtable, Senator Cardin will provide an update about recent progress at the federal level on priority environmental issues, and hear from participants regarding environmental concerns in their local communities.
“Members of the faith community have been doing significant things throughout the Chesapeake Bay watershed to improve the health of our ecosystem, both at their houses of worship and in their own backyards,” said Senator Cardin. “Actions like theirs are the key to protecting and restoring the region’s environmental integrity, and I look forward to learning more about their impressive work and shared commitment.”
