Cardin to Host Roundtable on Educational Excellence with Local School Superintendents and State Officials

Monday, July 20 at 10:30 AM, U.S. Senator Ben Cardin (D-Md.) will host a roundtable discussion in Baltimore about recent federal legislation on education and ways to continue to promote excellence in public school systems throughout Maryland. Senator Cardin will be joined by local superintendents and state education officials for a conversation on the progressive national reforms he has supported in the recent update to the Elementary and Secondary Education Act. Senator Cardin also will invite suggestions from Marylandโ€™s education leaders on other innovative ways to improve the educational experience for Americaโ€™s students, ensuring that all children receive the high-quality education they deserve.

โ€œI strongly believe that public education is Americaโ€™s great equalizer, and that providing access to a high-quality education is one of the most important priorities of government,โ€ said Senator Cardin. โ€œIโ€™ll be joined Monday by officials and administrators with first-person perspectives on our public educational systemโ€™s strengths and weaknesses, and I look forward to hearing from them about ways we can better serve an even greater number of students.โ€
