MADE in MD: Cardin to Tour Baltimore-based Pompeian, where Oil and Vinegar Mix Successfully

 

Monday, July 20 at 9:00 AM, U.S. Senator Ben Cardin (D-Md.) will tour the East Baltimore headquarters and discuss trade and tax issues with the leaders of Pompeian, Inc., whose olive oils, vinegars, cooking wines and other products are trusted staples in kitchen cabinets across America. After establishing a headquarters in Baltimore in 1906, the company became America’s first national brand of imported extra virgin olive oil. Today, Pompeian is the country’s best-selling brand of red wine vinegar and markets a wide range of other products, including organic and artisanal varieties of olive oil. 

Part of Senator Cardin’s “MADE in MD” jobs tour, which highlights the diversity of Maryland products and the Marylanders who produce them, Monday’s visit will underscore the many assets of a Baltimore business location. “For more than a century, Pompeian has found ways to bring consistent quality to customers nationwide by capitalizing on the strength of Baltimore’s position as an import and distribution powerhouse,” said Senator Cardin. “As the company prepares for continued success in the modern market, Baltimore continues to provide Pompeian a steady platform for growth.”
