Franchot to Tour Crofton Woods Elementary School, Present Proclamation to Strategic Factory
Comptroller to See Recent School Construction, Honor Business Owner

WHAT: Comptroller Franchot will tour Crofton Woods Elementary School Tuesdayafternoon as part of his role as a member of the Board of Public Works, which approves public school construction funding. He will see the most recent additions to the building. The school received more than $2 million in state funds in the 2010 fiscal year, including $1.4 million to construct 8,500 square feet for five new kindergarten classrooms. Crofton Woods Elementary School opened in 1971 and has been renovated twice.
Franchot will then visit Strategic Factory in Owings Mills to present a proclamation to owner Keith Miller in recognition of the business’ success. Strategic Factory is a printing and marketing company, offering graphic design, signage, promotional products and customized apparel. Miller started Strategic Factory from a distressed Minuteman Press franchise in 1999 and plans to break ground on another 30,000-square-foot building in the next two or three years.
