“I am so excited to have Lynette join our weather team.  Her knowledge, energy and enthusiasm are infectious;” says News Director Kelly Groft in a statement. “We are fortunate that she joins the team already knowing the lay of the land and knowing how important weather is to ABC2 News viewers.”

Charlesbegan her career at The Weather Channel as a camera operator and was chosen to participate in the Weather Channel’s “Practice Team Program.” She then became weekend meteorologist at WDEF, in Chattanooga, TN, where she became an active part of the community she covered.

Before moving to Baltimore, Charles was the morning meteorologist and co-anchor of a two hour morning news show at WPMT in York, Pa. “I hold the belief that if I were given the opportunity, I would make the science of weather come alive for my television audience” said Charles in a press statement.

Lynette is a member of the American Meteorological Society (AMS) and National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) and is originally from Silver Spring, Md. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She also loves watching and playing all sports.
