Stemming from a statement made by a member of the 1992 Michigan “Fab Five” that “Duke only recruited Black players that were Uncle Toms”; Rhoden provides an analyses of how talented Black basketball players should be viewed who choose to attend predominantly White institutions instead of applying their basketball gifts at historically Black institutions to shed light on those often overshadowed programs that also compete nationally in the NCAA Tournament.
