The mother of Los Angeles Clippers head coach Doc Rivers died June 19 in Illinois following a long-term illness, according to the team.

The Clippers did not release a cause of death or age for Bettye Rivers, according to USA Today.

Clippers guard Austin Rivers, son of Rivers and grandson of Bettye, posted a picture of all three of them together on Instgram with the caption: “RIP to my beloved grandmother Bettye Rivers.  We all loved you and will miss you.  But you will always be in our hearts Bettye.  May you RIP.”

Callie Rivers, Bettye’s granddaughter, also took to social media to express her feelings.  Callie posted a picture of her grandmother on Instagram with the caption: “rip grandma.  I know you will be an angel watching over us all.  So thankful to have had you in my life.  I love you and miss you already, forever in our hearts.”

A funeral service for Bettye Rivers was held on June 25 at the Second Baptist Church in Maywood, Ill.
