American Mothers is an interfaith, non-political non-profit, that is inclusive of all races organization for women and men who identify with the purpose of strengthening the moral and spiritual foundations of the family and the home.
It is the official sponsor of Mother’s Day and Mother of the Year. In 1935 at the New York Waldorf Astoria Hotel, honorary chairwoman Sarah Delano Roosevelt presented the first National Mother of the Year. The organization has spent 75 years honoring mothers who have made a difference.
This tradition has continued at each annual convention as AMI names an outstanding National Mother of the Year from State Mothers of the Year. The purpose of AMI is to strengthen the moral and spiritual foundations of the family and the home.
Anyone interested in supporting these goals, are encouraged to join both the AMI national organization and the Washington, D.C. -area chapter.
