Norfolk State University (NSU) sophomore pitcher Jamie Schulle gave up just two runs in 12 innings of action as the NSU softball team made light work of Morgan State University (MSU) with two victories (7-0, 13-7) on April 14 in Norfolk, Va.

Schulle pitched her fourth shutout of the season in the first game, striking out seven MSU batters and allowing only four hits in seven innings played. The sophomore then struck out four more batters, giving up just two earned runs on four hits in the five innings she played in the second game.

Meanwhile, Norfolk State dominated the batting as they recorded 25 hits in both games. NSU sophomore outfielder Morgan Boyd was 5-for-7 from the plate and senior outfielder Danielle Wright hit 3-for-4 with three runs scored in the first game alone, and had four hits with three runs in the second victory.

The sweep gave Norfolk State a 7-2 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) record on the season, 18-19 overall. Morgan State fell to 1-7 vs. the MEAC, 7-18 overall. Norfolk State will face Delaware State on April 21; Morgan State takes on Howard in Washington, D.C. on the same date.
