Kevin Durant scored a team-high 24 points as the Oklahoma City Thunder held off the Dallas Mavericks, 106-100, in game two of the NBA Western Conference Finals to tie the series, 1-1 May 19.

Durant, a Washington, D.C. native, didn’t get the job done alone. Oklahoma City coach Scott Brooks played his backups nearly the entire fourth quarter and the bench led the way to the series-tying victory. Thunder guard James Harden led all reserve players with 23 points, and guard Eric Maynor added 13 points off the bench. Oklahoma City’s bench outscored the Dallas reserves, 50-29.

“Their reserves came out swinging and really took it to us,” said Mavericks forward Dirk Nowitzki, who finished with 29 points. “We were never really ready for their reserves.”

Game Three of the Western Conference Final will tip off on Saturday, May 21.
