Phyllis Valerie Blue was born on April 10, 1961 to the late Herman Blue and Phyllis Blue. Early Sunday morning, September 25, 2011 suddenly God called her home from labor to reward.

Phyllis was affectionately known as the Easter Baby because her birthday often fell on Easter Sunday. She was also known as Cookie for many years. Her family often said she lived in Atlantic City at the casino playing the penny slot machine and only visited them in Baltimore. She enjoyed her last vacation in California.

She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed making homemade foods for the people she loved. She had a very sweet and quiet spirit. She loved sharing words of wisdom and life experiences with young adults.

On April 10, 2011, she announced her engagement to Monroe Travers. They were planning to marry in 2012. She was a mother that would do any and everything for her children. If it could be done, and she could do it, she would. She had a very courageous spirit and her very life was a lesson for all who knew her.
