Authorities say a man has been arrested in connection with the slaying of his neighbor in Landover Hills, Md.

Prince George’s County police said 61-year-old Robert James Crosby was taken into custody and charged with first-degree murder and robbery in the death of 62-year-old Lenise Fredericks.

Police say Fredericks was found dead on July 8 after officers were called to her home for a welfare check. Investigators said she was found with trauma to her upper body.

Based on a preliminary investigation, authorities said July 10 that the motive appears to be robbery.

No further details have been released.

It isn’t immediately clear if Crosby has an attorney.
