Alright, let’s get started. Free Fall Baltimore is a month of free entertainment events hosted by Tracy Baskerville and the Baltimore Office of Promotion and the Arts. The entire month of October will feature free arts and cultural activities throughout Baltimore City. The program spotlights the arts in Baltimore with artists, conversations, dance performances, exhibitions, festivals, film and various other activities. All events are free! The participating organizations include: American visionary Art Museum, Arena Players, ArtsCentric, Baltimore Center Stage, Baltimore Dance Crews Projects, Fells Point Corner Theatre, Greater Baltimore History Alliance, Baltimore Filmmakers Collective, Baltimore Heritage, Baltimore Jazz Works, Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, Contemporary Arts, Coppin State University Development Foundation, Coppin Repertory Theatre, Dance Baltimore, Eubie Blake National Jazz Institute and Cultural Center, St. David’s Episcopal Church, The Hippodrome Theatre, The Jewish Museum of Maryland, and the Waterfront Partnership of Baltimore, just to name some of the 80 plus organizations participating in this Free Fall Baltimore. Now, let’s talk about Concerts for Causes Fall Fest. It is a fun event to attend for the young, the seniors and the little ones. Food, wine and music, which I think is a great combination for having a damn good time. There will be hundreds of vendors, all kinds of food, exhibitors and artisans and lots of live entertainment. The event will be at the Bowie Towne Center, on October 20th 11:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. at 15606 Emerald Way, Bowie, Maryland. For more information call 301-332-8318.
Now, one of my favorite types of entertainment are gospel concerts. And Girlfriend, do I have one for you?! Bells Records is hosting an anniversary show for Lil’David & the Bells of Joy on Sunday, October 14 at 2:30 p.m. at the Greater New Hope Baptist Church, 2720 W. North Ave., where Dr. Linwood C. Robinson is the Pastor. On this program performing live and in person are: Gospel legends of Columbia, SC., the Jackson Southernaires of Jackson, Miss., Kenny Davis & the Melodyaires of Baltimore, Singing Disciples of Baltimore, Pastor Bobby Cohen & Men of God of Grear, SC. and Pastor White & Tur- Gozpel of Baltimore, just to name a few. Please join me at Maybelle & Co., who is Baltimore’s well-known comedian and radio personality from WOLB 1010 A.M., as well as the founder of her own full figured fashion organization. She will host “Sistas 4 Life” (women who survived breast cancer) an uplifting program for women only on October 13, noon- 4:00 p.m., at the Potter’s House, 6218 Reisterstown Rd.
