The Baltimore Washington Caribbean Carnival and Festival is July 11-12, on Saturday at noon for the most festive parade starting at 900 block of East 33rd Street at 1 p.m., and ends at Lake Clifton Park where the party begins for 2 days. Many Islands will be represented by beautiful hand-crafted costumes, steel band performers at this street parade. For more information, call 410-362-2957.

Now do you remember when I told you a couple of weeks ago about the Zion Baptist Church Outreach Community Festival? Well, as you know, it rained like hell that day, so they had to postpone until this weekend. That’s right, the community Street festival will take place on Saturday, July 11 from 11 a.m.to 4 p.m. on Caroline & Lanvale Streets starting with a parade, which is really great. They will have lots of live entertainment on stage, many vendors, rides for children, arts & grafts, food, health resources, and so much more. Zion Baptist Church is located 1700 N. Caroline Street. DipNic Festival hosted by the Faisonian Club, CH Productions & GH Productions is one of a kind designed for adults only. No children are allowed at this event. It is Saturday, July 11th (rain or shine) 12 noon until 8 p.m. at the Elks Camp Barrett, 1001 Chesterfield Road, Crownsville, Maryland 21401. Take your food, grill, tents, swimwear, canopy, chairs, umbrella, table cloth, charcoal, coolers, BYOF and BYOB. They have a lot of free parking. For more information, call 443-801-1100.

The Baltimore Area Alumni of Alpha Phi Omega Fraternity is hosting their Annual Crab Feast on Sunday, July 12 at the Forum Caterers, 4210 Primrose Avenue from 3-7 p.m. For more information, call 410-466-5806.

You must check out the Liberty Road Business Association Festival every Friday from 6-9. They also has lots of vendors, live entertainment, vendors selling everything including me with my book, “African-American Community, History & Entertainment in Maryland” doing a book signing. It is located in the parking lot of Kings Point Square, 9900 Liberty Road, Randallstown, Maryland.

Rosa Pryor Music Scholarship Fund will host their “Annual Deluxe Oldies but Goodies Crab Feast Fundraiser” on Saturday, July 18 from 2-6 p.m. at the VFW Post 6506, 8779 Philadelphia Road in Rosedale, Maryland. Featuring all the crabs you can eat and full hot buffet, also music by DJ Sugar Chris and live entertainment by Signature Live, Motown group from out of Washington, DC. “My Lands of Mercy!” “Great Balls of Kitty-Kat!” would you believe it, I have another crab feast for you, this one is called: “Crabfeast Bleues on the Water”. What an appropriate name for this one. The Venue is called “Bleues on the Water” and it located 7696 Altoona Beach Road in Glen Burnie, Maryland and they will host this event Friday, July 10 from 7-11 and if you miss this one, don’t worry, be happy because they are having this crab feast every Friday of this month same time same place.
