Hello my dear friends, my heart is sad, but my body says “Thank You.” Just in case you have heard rumors that I am closing down my organization, the Rosa Pryor Music Scholarship Fund after almost 25 years, it is true.

Due to the fact that I’m tired and my body is weak because of health issue, I have to let it go. I hate leaving the little children who need me to help them financially to embrace their gift and talent in music, and the veteran musicians who need to be recognized, but my health comes first.

Brenda Alford

Brenda Alford is being honored by Rosa Pryor Music Scholarship Fund at their final Black & Gold Scholarship & Award Formal Ball also.

Don’t worry; in some way shape or form, I will still have my fingers or toes in continuing to help the little children as well as the musicians by working with other organization who share my dreams, but not as a CEO. I am proud of what I have accomplished so far without ever having a sponsor, which is; I have given 104 children between the ages of 5-17 scholarships and have honored over 115 musicians, giving them their flowers while they still could smell them. I was able to do this because of some of your generous donations throughout the years; buying tickets to my annual Gospel Prayer Breakfast fundraiser every March, my Oldies but Goodies Crab Feastfundraiser every July and, of course, my Black & Gold Ball every October, which is the event where we actually present the little children with their scholarships. You know who you are.

Ellington Churchill

My dear friends, here is where I need your help. We still need your donations to help me with the children’s scholarships. If you are unable to come to my event, then send your donation in the mail and/or ask your friends to purchase tickets. My last event will be something to witness that is so beautiful, elegant, and first class at this formal Black & Gold event.  Show off your black tux and black and gold gowns as if you are walking the red carpet or attending the Academy Awards in California.
