‘BABY, IT’S GETTING COLD OUTSIDE’

Hello, everyone. It seems like our summer weather is slowly leaving us. If we can hold on to it until at least November, we’ll be great. In the meantime enjoy this beautiful weather, because baby, it’s getting cold outside.

Last week, I spoke to a member of a group called Griots’ Circle of Maryland. I found it kind of interesting. They have put together a program together called “Program of Love Stories for Adults.” On Oct. 10 they will present a program which will take place at 4 p.m. in the social hall of the New All Saints Church, 4400 Liberty Heights Ave., in Baltimore. In colorful African attire and with drumming and singing, the storytellers captivate the audience with tales that touch their heartstrings. Some of the featured performers will be award-winning storyteller Baba Jamal Koram, Griots’ Circle president, Janice Greene and the legendary John “Kinderman” Taylor. Maria Broom is the special guest emcee. For more information and tickets, call 410-788-3555 or e-mail baltimoregriot@hotmail.com.

The Arch Social Club, located 2426 Pennsylvania Ave., was founded in 1912 and will start celebrating their heritage on Oct. 3, 6-10 p.m., at the club featuring live entertainment with one of the most awesome groups in Baltimore metropolitan area, Jump Street. Jump Street is comprised of Terry Battle on bass, Brad Collins on saxophone, Jimmy Taylor on drums and Jeff Wilson on piano. Ladies and gentlemen, you don’t want to miss this. Tickets for this event, which are dirt cheap, can be purchased by calling the club at 410-669-9856 or Eleanor at 410-987-4371 or Donna at 410-358-9875.

If you enjoy good food as much as I do, then meet me at Ambrosia’s on Sunday, for a “Soulful Sunday Buffet.” All-you-can-eat buffet dinner takes place from 1-6 p.m. The price is so reasonable it will blow your mind and is even cheaper for seniors and children. Desserts and beverages are included.

Well, my dear friends, I am out of space. I have to save the rest for the next time. Hopefully soon, I’ll have more space soon to talk to you. But continue to send me your e-mails with your press releases, flyers and notes. If you need me, call me at 410-833-9474 or e-mail me at rosapryor@aol.com. UNTIL NEXT TIME, I’M MUSICALLY YOURS.
