Robert Griffin III was already perfect in the eyes of Washington Redskins fans before he stepped onto FedEx Field against the Philadelphia Eagles on Nov. 18. But the rookie posted stats to back up his growing legend, throwing four touchdowns and racking up 284 total yards en route to a 31-6 rout of Philadelphia.
Griffin dissected the Eagles’ secondary, tossing touchdown strikes of six, 49, 61 and 17 yards. Washington’s defense was just as impressive, holding Philadelphia to 257 total yards and forcing three turnovers.
With the win, Washington (3-6) halted a three-game losing streak and notched their first victory since Oct. 14, when they defeated the Minnesota Vikings.
Griffin continued his bid for Rookie of the Year honors, putting on a show for the Redskins faithful who filled FedEx Field with chants of “RGIII.”
Washington has a short week to prepare before traveling to face divisional rival Dallas on Thanksgiving Day.
