Comptroller Franchot to Present Proclamation to Environmental Education Center in Kent County
Students Take Part in Free Environmental and Agro-Ecology Program at State Park
WHO: Comptroller Peter Franchot
WHAT: Comptroller Franchot will present a proclamation today to Wayne Gilchrest, director of the Sassafras Environmental Education Center (SEEC) in Kennedyville, recognizing the center’s efforts to provide a free environmental and agro-ecology program to school-age and special education students as they explore the 1,000-acre state park. Funding is provided through the Department of Natural Resources and administrative support is from the Eastern Shore Land Conservancy. Mr. Gilchrest is a former 1st District Congressman and former Kent County Public Schools teacher.
