WHO: Comptroller Peter Franchot
State and local elected officials
WHAT: Comptroller Franchot will present a proclamation today to Ed Bloom and Jeff Berkow, owners of Ethel’s Creole Kitchen, which was founded 20 years ago serving coffee and tea under the name of Ethel and Ramones. As the restaurant’s clientele grew, the business grew and expanded both in the eatery’s size and menu. Ethel’s Creole Kitchen now offers local Maryland fare with Chesapeake Bay and New Orleans flavors such as Crab and Shrimp Gumbo, Blackened Rockfish and Pan Fried Oysters with Remoulade. In its remodeled building, there is an open kitchen model with second floor balcony dining and French doors that make indoor tables feel al fresco.
