Comptroller Franchot to Present Proclamations to Businesses in Salisbury, Easton and Ridgely
Franchot to Visit Auto Dealer, Car Wash and Pharmacy/Ice Cream Parlor
WHO: Comptroller Peter Franchot
WHAT: Comptroller Franchot will visit three Eastern Shore businesses today, recognizing their success and the important roles they play in their respective communities. The first stop will be the Pohanka Automotive Group of Salisbury, where the Comptroller will honor Sandy Fitzgerald-Angello and her staff for their focus on service to the Greater Salisbury area. Pohanka of Salisbury is active in the community, having donated more than $1 million to 750 charitable organizations since 2009. The business has 16 franchise dealerships and 11 collision centers throughout Virginia, Maryland and the Washington, D.C., metro area.
Later that afternoon, the Comptroller will stop by The Car Pool in Easton, to present a proclamation to owner and local businessman, Dan Bridges, and his son, Nicholas, who is the operator. The state-of-the-art car wash opened in April 2015. The Bridges family also owns Aqua Pool & Spa in Easton, as well as another car wash in Salisbury.
In Ridgely, Mr. Franchot will honor Brenda and Chuck Walls for the contributions and service their business, Ridgely Pharmacy and Ice Cream Parlor, has provided to the community. The Comptroller will sample one of the parlor’s 20 flavors of Vanderwendes Farm Fresh Ice Cream, or an old-fashioned milk shake or soda. The Walls have owned the local and Denton pharmacies for 11 years.
