Comptroller Franchot to Speak at Junior Achievement Finance Park Opening in Landover
– Comptroller to Highlight Importance of Financial Literacy for Youngsters –

WHAT: Comptroller Franchot will speak at a ribbon-cutting ceremony this morning of the grand opening of the Prince George’s County Junior Achievement Finance Park in Landover. The facility is a partnership between Junior Achievement, Capital One and Prince George’s County Public Schools.
Since 2007, one of Comptroller Franchot’s chief priorities has been to develop and expand financial literacy programs for children throughout Maryland to give them the tools to make informed, responsible choices as adults. The Comptroller has strongly advocated for this project, which includes an interactive learning center that simulates “real world” conditions to teachstudents how to create household budgets, establish spending priorities and manage debt properly.
