Comptroller Franchot to Tour Laurel Spring Regional Park in Charles County

WHAT:          In his role as a member of the Board of Public Works, Comptroller Peter Franchot this afternoon will tour Program Open Space (POS) funded projects that have been completed at Laurel Spring Regional Park in La Plata. He will be joined by Chief of Parks and Grounds for Charles County Tom Roland. The Comptroller will see a playground with special needs equipment, two small picnic pavilions, new picnic tables, athletic playing areas for baseball, football and soccer, and natural surfaces for the running and walking trail. The most recent project included a $125,000 sports lighting system on a softball /baseball field, with $92,000 coming from state POS funding.
