WHAT: In his role as a member of the Board of Public Works, which approves public school funding programs, Comptroller Franchot will tour Rock Creek Forest Elementary School this morning with school leaders and local elected officials.
At Rock Creek Forest, which is part of the Bethesda-Chevy Chase cluster of seven Montgomery County Public Schools, the Comptroller will see the results of a $29 million modernization plan to create more space for 745 children in grades K-5. The new facility includes a media center, cafeteria with a stage for student performances, staff offices, flexible space and gym with six basketball hoops. Construction was completed last year.
