Comptroller to Put Baltimore, Bowie and Takoma Park Fests on Fall Weekend Stops

WHAT: Comptroller Franchot will take in the sights and sounds of fall festivals this weekend. The Comptroller will start his weekend at the 48th Annual Fell’s Point Fun Festival. Started in 1966 with a handful of artisans, the festival now includes hundreds of regionally and nationally acclaimed artists, loads of good food, great music and fun activities for kids.
The Comptroller then will head over to the City of Bowie’s International Festival to be taken on an “Around the World in Just One Day” tour – this year’s theme for the variety of entertainers, artists, crafters selling clothing, jewelry and other items from around the world, food and children’s programs.
On Sunday, the Comptroller will enjoy his hometown of Takoma Park’s 33rd Annual Street Festival. The Comptroller and festival attendees will enjoy strolling, shopping and dancing through beautiful Old Takoma. There will be a diverse collection of items from more than 150 artisans. The fest also will include three stages and 18 popular, local bands, as well as food and children’s activities.
